internacional.
1. A banda Fireproven
A música
O nome e o logotipo
Nuutti Hannula: As minhas maiores
influências são: Porcupine tree, Soilwork, Devin Townsend, John Coltrane,
Gojira e Rubik.
Os artistas favoritos de Juha são: Pantera,
Sentenced, Megadeth, Queen and Slayer.
Os de Janne são: Pink Floyd,
Gojira, Messhuggah, Opeth, David Bowie e Metallica.
As influências de Ilari são: Kamelot,
Virgin steel, Hans Zimmer, Chvurches, Dream theather e Joe Hisaishi.
São tipos de músicas muito
diferentes, como você pode ver.
Nuutti Hannula/Fireproven: Nosso show no Puruvesi Pop
foi uma ótima experiência. Havia muita energia naquele show e o público era
soberbo.
Nuutti Hannula/Fireproven: Ninguém nunca perguntou o
que fazemos quando não estamos tocando música. Talvez alguém faça essa pergunta
no futuro.
musical \m/

Abaixo segue a entrevista completa em inglês
Thank
you for this interview to the brazilian blog of literature and music "Lady Black Raven". For us, it is an
honor to be able to know and spread a quality work in the international metal
scene.
1. The
Fireproven band has many videos on youtube with good accesses like New Born Truth, Shine (with the
participation of Noora Louhimo frontman of the band Battle Beast), Shame and The Tower. Especially, I met the band for admiring Noora in the music
Shine. Introduce yourselves to Brazil. Also tell us what is the difference of
Fireproven from other progressive metal bands:
Fireproven is metal band from Finland and
our music is a mix of progressive elements, catchy melodies and melodic death
metal. We don’t think that we belong only in a progressive metal genre. We just
like to do all kinds of musical solutions that are not so familiar in metal
scene. I think that’s the reason why progressive metal fits for us as a genre.
Progressive music is always the sum of your influences and there’s no clear
guideline what to do. I don’t even think that our music is metal. It’s just
music.
I think that biggest difference if you
compare Fireproven to other metal bands is the wide range of influences from
the different music styles.
2. I
would like to know about the beginning of the band Fireproven. How did this
project begin, the initial steps... I am also curious to know how the name and
logo of the band came from, as both are the identity of the band, and in what
way the choice of the name Fireproven reflects on your musical projects:
Nuutti Hannula/Fireproven: We started this journey in 2006 with Ilari and Janne in Hamina. We had
a goal to make something new and fresh but at the same time aggressive music.
It was hard at first but we were hard working guys and we got through that
face. At that time we were looking for a bass player and fortunately Janne’s
brother Juha was interested to play with us. For a little while we tried to
find singer to our band but because there wasn’t any good options we decided
that Juha start’s to growl. That was the case first but after our first release
Janne started to sing the clean vocals.
Name and the logo came very naturally. The
name Fireproven means for us something that is always changing, like a flame.
Original logo is made by Ville Huovila and I think that it symbolize very well
that idea.
3. What
are the main influences (of each member of the band) and how do these
influences inspire you in the songwriting process?
(Nuutti
Hannula) My biggest influences are: Porcupine tree, Soilwork, Devin Townsend,
John Coltrane, Gojira and Rubik.
Juha’s favorite artist’s are: Pantera,
Sentenced, Megadeth, Queen and Slayer.
Janne’s are: Pink Floyd, Gojira,
Messhuggah, Opeth, David Bowie and Metallica.
Ilari’s infulences are: Kamelot,
Virgin steel, Hans Zimmer, Chvurches, Dream theather and Joe Hisaishi.
Very
different kind of music as you can see.
4. How
did the band mature musically from 2008 to 2018, that can be felt in the first
album Future Diary?
Nuutti Hannula/Fireproven: I think we grew up a lot during that period. In the beginning we made too
much limits for us, like we can’t do this or that. Our music has evolved from
the start to this day in many level but I think the mental level is the most
important. Of course technical aspects
of music are important but if you wan´t to make a long career you have to focus
in your vision and mental health. If those two aren´t your main priorities you
pretty sour fail in your journey.
5. How
were the preparations of the first musical compositions for this album? What
are the messages and reflections in the lyrics of the songs? How these songs continue
the proposals of EP 2012 and Omnipresence
(2013), and how can these songs also distance themselves from these two EPs,
bringing or revealing new musical aspects of Fireproven? And about the cover
art: could you explain the concept and symbols on the cover of the Future Diary album?
Nuutti Hannula/Fireproven: We all
composed songs for the album and then we decided which songs are the best one’s.
Lyrics are influenced by nondualism, environment problems and humans individual
crises. Every band member have a little bit different style to make lyrics but
we have holistic picture that is clear for all of us.
As
I said before Fireproven is a flame that is constantly moving. I see many similarities in Future diary’s
songs compare to older one’s but at the same time music is quite different. In
the future we will also continue to explore new things and that’s why I believe
that the music will be a little bit different in the future.
It’s
hard to explain cover art clearly because it’s more like abstract and post
rational thing. Everyone can imagine what’s the meaning when they read lyrics
and listen to music.
6. How
is the feedback from the public and
media in general about the album Future
Diary?
Nuutti Hannula/Fireproven: We have
had very good feedback from the media. Of course there’s also critique but
that’s important for your own self reflection. You can always grow with your music.
We got lots of new fans with this release and that’s also very important.
7. What
was the most incredible show or festival that the band Fireproven participated
in?
Nuutti Hannula/Fireproven: Our gig in
Puruvesi pop was great experience. There was lots of energy in that gig and
audience was superb. Sometimes you can be one with that energy and then the time
disappears.
8. Are
there any questions that have not been asked, but would you like to have
answered?
Nuutti Hannula/Fireproven: No one has
never asked what we do when we are not playing metal music. Maybe someone will
ask that question in the future.
9. Leave
a message for Brazilian fans:
Nuutti Hannula/Fireproven: Love and peace for you all!
Thank
you very much for the interview and I wish you good luck in the long musical
trajectory \ m /
